Information we collect
When you enquire about short-term insurance or income replacement, we request your name, contact details, town or city, service of interest and preferred contact method. An income replacement enquiry may also ask whether you are employed or self-employed.
We receive information directly from you through the form you submit.
Please do not submit identity numbers, banking details, medical information or confidential documents through these initial enquiry forms. Information required for advice or an application will be requested separately.
Providing information is voluntary. Without sufficient contact details, we may be unable to respond.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, discuss your needs, arrange a consultation and keep appropriate enquiry records. If you proceed with advice or an application, we will explain any additional information and processing required.
Your request allows us to follow up about the service you selected. It does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated marketing. Any separate marketing consent will be requested separately.
Submitting a form does not create insurance cover or guarantee acceptance, benefits or a quotation.
Who may receive your information
Your enquiry is handled by Ru Vern and Associates (Pty) Ltd and authorised people assisting us.
Depending on the enquiry channel, Meta (Facebook or Instagram), our online form provider and our email, hosting and communication providers may process information to collect, deliver or store your enquiry. These platforms also process information under their own privacy policies.
If you request a quotation or application, relevant information may be shared with suitable insurers, administrators or other service providers where necessary and lawfully permitted. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Security, storage and retention
We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information. Access is limited to people who need it for authorised purposes.
We retain enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and meet applicable legal or record-keeping obligations. Information no longer required is securely deleted or de-identified.
Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where we arrange such transfers, we must ensure that the applicable POPIA requirements are met.
Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information or deletion where permitted. You may object to processing and withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
To exercise these rights or stop enquiry follow-up, contact rudi@ruvern.co.za or 083 462 1200. We may need to verify your identity. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully or records we must retain.
